Graffiti Notes

There has been much controversy surrounding the photographing of graffiti art. Some feel it is stealing from another artist. Since I have added some of this work to my site I would like to take this time to comment on this subject.

First,  I want to  be clear  that I am by no means taking credit for any of the original art. When I take a photograph of a building, a person or any subject, I am not claiming credit for its creation. I merely have used learned technics, to create  my personal interpretation of what I see. The  samples to the right show the original work and then the transformation to the finished piece.

I truly admire these artist and encourage and promote what they do. I applaud their talent.

Unfortunately this type of art is fleeting. As time and natures elements erode these pieces, they are lost forever. I hope that through my photography, I have allowed it to live a little longer.
